The 23. NECS Graduate Workshop, hosted by the University of Cologne and organised by , will take place from 29-31 October 2024. The workshop’s title, “L/Nightscapes: Perspectives on Illumination and the City”, refers to the mutual conditionality of night and light: lightscapes usually arise through nightscapes – one cannot be considered without the other. The potential of light to map and structure spaces, or to sometimes even create them, is in turn represented by thinking of these manifestations as (land)scapes.
